South Africa : Clinton Arrives in Africa Bearing No Gifts

Bankrupted by the Bush Administration's home-made "War on Terror" and facing the prospect of a costly military defeat in the Middle East, the United States Government has sent its Secretary of State, Ms Hillary Clinton, to Africa to promote relations shattered by the Cheney/Bush Administration.

Ms Clinton is to meet International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane at the Presidential Guest House in Pretoria today and is expected to ask South Africa for aid in the form of favourable trade conditions.

Ms Clinton's next stop is believed to be Angola, where the US appears to have anchored its African Military Command, Africam (http://www.africom.mil/)

The visit is designed to coincide with a United States Military joint exercise with the smallest army in the world - the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF).

U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Army Africa kicked-off a two-week medical exercise with an opening ceremony at USDF headquarters in Swaziland, August 3, 2009. The USDF co-director Lieutenant Colonel Moses Zwane thanked everyone for attending the ceremony and extended a warm welcome to the U.S. service members participating in the exercise.

"I am very pleased to be one of the MEDFLAG co-directors," Zwane said. "This exercise is the first of its kind in our kingdom."

Some South African intellectuals have been voicing concerns over the the US's increased military activity in Southern Africa. These concerns are focused on the US's propensity for black flag operations and an ability to deploy biological ordinance.

It is widely believed that Secretary of State is also in Africa to promote the bulk sale of US made Swine Flu vaccines to African governments and to establish communication channels to be deployed after the scheduled adjustment to the US Dollar in September 2009.
